Dr. Michael Torres grew up in southern Arizona. He knows what triple-digit heat does to your patience when you are already dealing with a toothache. That is why his practice is built around one promise: if you are in pain, you get seen today, not next week.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson. After completing his residency, he chose to stay and practice right here because southern Arizona is home. Over the past 15 years, he has treated thousands of dental emergencies, from straightforward extractions to complex trauma cases involving knocked-out teeth and facial injuries.

His clinical interests include dental trauma management, surgical extractions, root canal therapy, and treating dental infections before they become dangerous. He stays current with continuing education courses every year and invests in modern diagnostic equipment so patients get accurate diagnoses on their first visit.

Why He Started This Practice

Early in his career, Dr. Torres noticed a gap in Tucson. Patients with genuine dental emergencies, severe pain at 2 PM on a Tuesday, a tooth knocked out at a Saturday morning baseball game, were being told to wait until Monday. Or they were ending up in the ER, where the staff could prescribe painkillers but could not actually fix the tooth.

He opened Emergency Dentist of Tucson to fill that gap. The office keeps appointment slots open every day specifically for emergencies. The goal is simple: call in the morning, get treated that afternoon. No referrals needed, no waiting list.

What Patients Can Expect

When you walk in, the first thing we do is address your pain. Dr. Torres will examine you, take digital X-rays if needed, and explain exactly what is going on in language you can understand. No jargon, no pressure. He will lay out your treatment options, explain the costs upfront, and let you make the decision.

The office accepts most major dental insurance plans. For patients without insurance, we offer clear pricing and flexible payment options. We believe cost should never stop someone from getting out of pain.

Outside the Office

When he is not treating patients, Dr. Torres coaches youth baseball in Tucson and volunteers at community dental health screenings across Pima County. He has provided free dental exams and cleanings at events in South Tucson, Marana, and Flowing Wells. He lives in Tucson with his family and two dogs.

Our Office Hours

We are open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays. If you have a dental emergency during our hours, call 520-317-6362 and we will work to get you in the same day.
